A Fundação EDP inaugura, no próximo dia 5 de Outubro, o novo edifício do Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia.
A abertura será assinalada com um convite à cidade para uma festa de 12 horas com performances, concertos e visitas guiadas, entre outros eventos. Uma oportunidade também para conhecer o novo edíficio, o circuito museológico da Central Tejo recentemente renovado, bem como as três exposições que inauguram nesse dia: "The World of Charles and Ray Eames", "A Forma da Forma" e "Pynchon Park".
Com o MAAT, a Fundação EDP passa a dispor de uma área de 38 mil metros quadrados na frente ribeirinha da zona de Belém, onde conviverão a icónica central elétrica do início do séc. XX e o edifício, concebido pelo atelier londrino Amanda Levete Architects.
O percurso pedonal da frente ribeirinha passa a incluir a cobertura do novo edifício, que terá zonas ajardinadas, tornando-se um elemento vital da circulação local bem como um espaço público com uma vista privilegiada da cidade e do rio.
O MAAT – Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia será a peça central da área de 38 mil metros quadrados que a Fundação EDP ocupa na margem norte do rio Tejo. Aqui, a icónica central elétrica do início do séc. XX e o novo edifício, concebido pelo atelier londrino Amanda Levete Architects, convivem e oferecem uma programação cultural variada. A Central Tejo moderniza-se, mantém a vocação para a ciência e passa a ter quatro galerias. O novo edifício contempla também quatro espaços expositivos num total de cerca de 3 mil metros quadrados.
Os dois edifícios serão unidos por um parque, pensado pelo arquiteto paisagista Vladimir Djurovic, que oferece um espaço exterior de excelência, com circulação livre, nesta zona ribeirinha da cidade de Lisboa.
No seu conjunto, o Campus da Fundação EDP estará concluído em março de 2017.
EDP Foundation opens on the 5th of October, the new Art Museum building, Architecture and Technology.
The opening will be marked with an invitation to the city for a 12-hour party with performances, concerts and guided tours, and other events. With MAAT, EDP Foundation now has an area of 38,000 square meters on the waterfront of Belém, which will gather the iconic power station from the beginning of the century. XX and the building, designed by London studio Amanda Levete Architects.
The pedestrian route from the riverfront now includes the new building coverage, which will have garden areas, making it a vital element of local circulation as well as a public space with a privileged view of the city and the river.
The MAAT - Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology will be the centerpiece of the area of 38 thousand square meters that the EDP Foundation occupies the north bank of the Tagus River. Here, the power station iconic of the early century. XX and the new building, designed by London studio Amanda Levete Architects, live and offer a varied cultural program. The two buildings will be linked by a park, designed by landscape architect Vladimir Djurovic, which offers an outdoor space of excellence, with free movement, this riverside area of Lisbon.
On the whole, the Campus EDP Foundation will be completed in March 2017.
